Lausanne Sport landed a coup in front of an incredible home crowd on Lake Geneva in Lausanne last weekend. The Swiss team first defeated the #1 team in the World Ub Huishan NE in the fist group game, ending their 14-game-winning streak in the process on a Maurice Lacroix Buzzer Beater with the final score of 21-20. Lausanne Sport also knocked out last year's Lausanne Masters winners San Juan and advanced as first in Pool A.
After the victories in the 1/4 final over Antwerp and the 1/2 final vs. Amsterdam, the final was a rematch of the first game of the event against Ub. But they were able to swich gear and defeated the home favorites Lausanne Sport (SUI) in the final (21-15) in front of a sold-out venue by Lake Geneva.
Nevertheless Lausanne Sport confirmed their affilition with the FIBA World Tour and was able to regain confidence after a so far fruitless season by qualifying for the final - the second final ever after that one in 2017.
